April Update 2024

Hello again, and the site is starting to take shape. A lot of enhancements and extra features to come, but I’m hoping it will already be of interest to site visitors. I’ve tried my best to keep entering in data, but that will take time. At the moment we have 55 pubs recorded on the site, and hope to keep updating with 50-60 per month. Most entries have been for Westminster and Camden boroughs, but a few gems we’ve spotted in City of London have also been recorded. Next month the intention is to add data from a new borough to the site records.

A couple of things have already surprised me in my research. The first is just how many great pubs you can find in just one borough. Only another 30 boroughs to go! (I may have to restrict the site to inner London boroughs) The other thing that has completely surprised me is the number of great beer gardens to be found in Camden pubs. Rare to find (but not impossible) in say the Westminster borough. I had thought that Camden would be the same, given it includes part of central London, and the high population density around Camden Town itself.

I’m thinking of starting a Pub of the Month option too. Of course this will be very subjective (I like places with a good beer garden that serve good value food), but I’m coming across plenty of contenders each week.
