Hello, and welcome to the ListLondonpubs website, a site very much in its early stages.
I’m Mark, and the reason I started this project is because I found existing pub directories for London were not great at filtering and drilling down, although some like the Camra Whatpub site are very comprehensive. To give an example, on that site, it is possible to search for pubs with beer gardens, but it’s not quickly apparent how to do so, and the results are confused since it appears that every pub that just puts some benches on the pavement, qualifies as having a beer garden!
My aim is to produce a site that gives you the option to quickly find the pubs you’re after (beer garden, gastro-pub, historic interest etc) in the area you are based. I also want to provide interesting pub crawl ideas for visitors interested in that. Since starting this project I’ve begun to realise how large the numbers of pubs may be, so I may have to restrict things to the inner London boroughs. Apologies to the likes of Havering and Hillingdon!
I hope to provide a monthly update in this blog, to see how my site (and the database entries) is progressing.
